| C-CIARN Prairies was hosted by PARC
(the Prairie Adaptation Research Collaborative) at the University
of Regina. PARC continues to exist. The PARC
website (www.parc.ca) details current
activities and hosts completed and ongoing research projects.
C-CIARN Prairies’ mandate was to link researchers, stakeholders
and decision makers in the field of climate change impacts and adaptation.
We supported workshops, conferences, publications and media events
to aid researchers and stakeholders in generating, understanding
and disseminating options to deal with current and projected climate
change. We also seeked to identify the key research and adaptation
challenges for the Prairie Provinces. PARC
continues this work.
C-CIARN successfully met the mandate that it was given when it
was created in 2001, and on June 30, 2007, the network closed. The
many products of C-CIARN, such as workshop and conference reports,
posters and other communication products, remain accessible to the
public through the C-CIARN Archives
website (www.c-ciarn.ca) as
well as through the websites of organizations such as PARC,
which hosted a C-CIARN office, and which continues to carry out
impacts and adaptation work.
